Crackenthorpe Hall is a grand grade II* listed country house located in the scenic Eden Valley.
- Sleeps up to 12 adults
- Several more single beds and cots can be accommodated for children and babies / toddlers
Located within a few miles of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, Crackenthorpe Hall is the ideal location for a special family get together or special event.
The Hall is divided into three self contained properties. The part of the property to rent is the magnificent Victorian Octavius wing. Build by Captain Octavius Machel in 1880, the Octavius wing is a sumptuous Victorian experience with a magnificent 43ft drawing room, a double height 35ft central main hall with large skylight (both with open fires), games room, a modern fitted kitchen and several modern bath / shower rooms, and bedroom accommodation for at least 12 guests in 6 large bedrooms. Heating is provided by a recently installed biomass fired central heating system.
The grounds extend to 11 acres, mostly woodland, bordering the River Eden, with two large lawned areas and formal flower beds. The property also benefits from about 400m of single bank fishing rights on the River Eden, one of the best trout fishing rivers in the UK.
Parking for up to 12 cars is located in a gravelled courtyard at the front of the property
Other local activities include walking, golf, fly fishing, horse riding, climbing, visiting the many local historic houses and churches, or just relaxing in the house and grounds.
